  Nick Garulay, President/Owner

Nick moved to Florida in 1996 to turn his dream of owning a highline and exotic car dealership into a reality. Passionate about cars since a young child he set out to offer the best quality pre-owned vehicles on the market and decided Florida owned cars were the ones to sell. Striving to provide the level of customer service he had not found at any other dealership, he quickly established a strong reputation as an honest and trustworthy dealer.

  Scott Winning, Sales Manager

Scott brings over 20 years of experience to Ambassador Auto Sales. Born and raised in NJ, he moved here to "paradise" in 2001 after 14 years of convincing his wife and two children! Always working with highline vehicles he started as a service dispatcher with Mercedes and moved into sales in less than a year. He has worked in sales, finance and management with Mercedes, BMW and Porsche new car franchises as well as with pre-owned Exotics of all types. He has seen first hand the benefit of buying a pre-owned car versus new, providing you can find the right car from the right person at a fair price. He believes we should thank the person who bought the cars brand new for paying for the worst part - the initial depreciation.    Andrea Shackelford, Office Manager and F&I

Andrea was a great find. She brings over 10 years of dealership experience to the table. Her specialties are finance and warranties. She will go the extra mile to ensure you have the proper financing in place for your next vehicle purchase. We have a number of banks and leasing companies to fit your needs.

 


 

David Wade, Sales and Inventory manager

 

David coordinates the detailing of each car we have here at Ambassador Auto Sales. He was just recently been promoted to Sales and we look forward to having him in the showroom

  Dave Karlin, Detail Specialist

 

Dave is a true specialist in Automotive detailing. He has years of experience with auto detail work. He is incredible with wet sanding, buffing, and glazing our vehicles to perfection. He truly is a perfectionist and enjoys his job.

 

 

 

 

 

  William P. Cleary, CFO

 

 

 Bill is our company C.F.O. He is an incredible bean counter and we are blessed to have him. Bill really cleaned up our books and has been a true team player. He is a great guy and we enjoy working with him.

 

  Derek Anderson , Technician/Detail Specialist

  Derek is our full time mechanic. He has proven himself in both the automotive and detail department of our business. Derek does great work. He inspects and services every vehicle that passes through our facility.

  Jason brings years of experience in detailing. He is responsible for interior and final details.

  

 

 

 

  Cary Longchamps, Photographer and Videographer

  Cary just joined the team and has adapted well. It took years to develop a picture formatting technique that is unparallel and he was able to follow our protocol with very little training. Cary will be implementing our video's in January and we look forward to cornering the market with our new technology.

  

 

 

 

Nick's Story

My name is Nick Garulay and I am the owner and President of Ambassador Auto Sales Inc.  I offer my professional knowledge and service and strive for complete customer satisfaction.

I have been infatuated with cars since I was 5 years old. When I was 10 I could tell my father what kind of vehicle was coming down the road just from the headlights. When I turned 14 years old I bought and sold my first vehicle before I had a drivers license. I knew that this was what I wanted to do for a career.

I started walking into the retail dealerships and negotiating deals on cars that I never intended on buying. Sure this wasn't the right thing to do to the poor salesman that was dealing with me but I got a rush from negotiating.

When I finally got my drivers license I started to test drive the cars from all the high end franchise dealerships. Every vehicle from foreign to domestic I could tell you a story about.

One day I walked into the Porsche dealership and sat down with the salesman and started to negotiate a deal on a new Porsche Twin Turbo. The salesman was no match for me so he brought in his sales manager. Keep in mind I had no intentions of buying this vehicle but it was one of my favorite cars.

We went back and forth for hours. Finally when it came time to test drive I took the salesman for the ride of his life. He was so impressed with my knowledge of cars he begged his manager to hire me for his sales team.

I started selling Porsches at the age of 17. I was the top sales person out of 13 sales associates. I was very customer focused and a great problem solver.

One day the manager called me in for a meeting and expressed anger over my attentiveness to my customers. He said I was being too generous!!

Keep in mind that I always wanted to have my own business but never had the funds to do so. I remember the demand for Florida vehicles when I lived in Boston and how easy they were to sell.

I closed my bank account with a whopping $5,000 dollar balance and moved to Naples, Florida.

Although Naples seemed like the area to come before you die, this is the used car Mecca. The vehicles here are garage kept and in showroom condition. Naples cars are very easy to sell.

Now I knew I wanted to deal only in high end vehicles but I didn't have the funds available. I focused more on my reputation and customer satisfaction. I was dealing with $500.00 cars and supplying the local Haitian and Mexican market. Mainly because I started my business with 6k I saved from waiting on tables.

This strategy wasn't going so well. They say the first year in business is always the hardest. While waiting for my beaters to sell I studied eBay and fantasized about dealing in highline and exotic cars.

In month 9 I decided I would close the doors as I felt I couldn't make it in this business. I scanned the internet and found the car I always admired which was a 1986 Porsche 928S like the car in Risky Business. I figured if I was going out of business I would do it in style.

I bought this beautiful White 928 with White leather and fixed anything I could find wrong. I took some awesome pictures in front of a church and figured out how to list the car on eBay for a live online auction.

A customer called me within 2 days of the auction's start and wanted to purchase the vehicle. I told the customer all of the items that I repaired and how I operate my business. He was so impressed that he wired me funds for the vehicle without seeing it and arranged his own shipping.

Although I lost $200 on the sale I discovered my niche.  With the reputation that I had locally I decided to expand to a worldwide market and sell vehicles on the internet. I did the detailing myself as I maintained a 1 man operation until 2004 averaging 10 cars per month. (boy those were the days)

In 2005 I bought the building that Ambassador operates from today and this was the beginning of an incredible business. I was able to build a team with people I did business with from franchise stores locally and the rest is history.

Ambassador has sold over 3500 vehicles online. These vehicles have been fully inspected and serviced. We've have worked very hard for our reputation and will continue to do so.

STEP 1.   We walk around the vehicle and make a list of any items that need to be addressed cosmetically.

 

 

STEP 2.  The vehicle is inspected here at my service facility mechanical inspection is performed. Fluids are changed to assure the vehicle needs nothing when my customer takes possession.

 

STEP 3.  We attend to our list of cosmetic issues and make repairs with no expense spared. Most of our vehicles are covered under full factory warranty. We have a full service facility with in ground lifts.

STEP 4.  The vehicle is detailed here at the facility which is done extensively!! Please click on our detail section of the website and view our live cameras.

 

STEP 5.  The vehicle is taken to our photo area and we perform a professional photo shoot like our  

               vehicle is a model for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit magazine!

 

STEP 6.  We return to the office to load every picture and post a very detailed description of each and 

              every vehicle on eBay Motors.

 

STEP 7.  We wait for you to call and begin the transaction.

 

 

STEP 8.  Once the vehicle is funded we arrange nationwide shipping for you at your expense.
