Extensive Detail

Training Day at Ambassador Auto Detail.

Here are some pictures of a day of Training. Bruce is our Distributor of detail products. He was nice enough to come in one Saturday and show our specialists a new technique of wet sanding and hard buffing.

I had to find an example of terrible paintwork on a vehicle and we all know I wouldn't find that at our dealership. We found this Cadillac at one of the local "Buy Here, Pay Here" dealerships. As you can see this finish is very dull with bare minimum shine.

I purchased some new devices and tools but would not let any of the Detailers use them without some extensive training. Here is a picture of the guys learning how to wet sand.

As you can see this is a technique that requires great skill. If this is done incorrectly it will burn through the clear coat and paint.

After the wet sanding is complete the finish needs to be buffed with the proper cut of compound. This is another skill that requires technique, patience and stamina.

The surface is then glazed with a special buffing sponge pad. This is mandatory to remove swirl marks. Once the Glaze is applied you start to see the shine come from beneath the surface.

To ensure the swirls are removed we apply a swirl remover after the glaze. As you can see the shine has broken the surface and we have a mirror like finish.

This Process could be used as a magic trick with amazing results.

Here is a picture of the end result. The vehicle will now be washed and dried. We will apply 3 coats of sealer wax for an amazing Brand New finish.
